Miss Korea 2012

 Hey everyone,

I have to admit, for me, Miss Korea 2012, Kim Yumi, is indeed a very beautiful lady. However, as you may know, she must have undergone a plastic surgery to make such a beautiful face. I really respect the plastic surgeon who had done a tremendous work and for course to Kim Yumi herself as she actually admits that the accusation is true. Unlike other fake idols who do not admit and claimed it's natural beauty although it is so obvious that it's fake.

How to Make French Macaroons

 Hey everyone,

Last week I went for a French macaroon cooking class. Well you know I kind of like eating macaroons although I feel guilty because of the calories. Making French macaroons is so easy and you should try too.

Ingredients:

100g Egg white (with a generous pinch of salt) - room temperature
  50g Sugar

120g Ground Almond (you may add 3/4 table spoon of cocoa powder) & 200g Icing sugar (sift together)

2 drops of colouring (you may use Ameri Colour)

Preheat the oven to 140 c (depending on your oven)

Whisk the egg white until it becomes fluffy and foamy (to make the meringue) *you may use the machine if you want to. Then continue whisking it and slowly add in the sugar and keep whisking until it becomes thick. 

 Later, add on the colouring and sift the meringue with the ground almond mixture.

Now it's almost done. Transfer the meringue in the pastry bag and pipe round shapes on the tray (make sure you line it with a parchment paper first). You may add decorations like sesame or poppy seeds.

Wait for about 30 minutes under the aircond only then bake them in the oven for about 20 minutes with a temperature of 120 c (depends on the type of oven you are using so make sure you keep an eye on them).

Whilst you are waiting, you may prepare the filling. There are a few types you can make according to your preference:
1) Cream cheese with raspberry or lemon or strawberry (which ever flavour you like)
2) Chocolate with whipping cream (melt them together and put it in the fridge for about 1-2 hours).

* filling is up to your creativity.

Put the filling in the pastry bag.

When baking is done, let them cool off for about 2 minutes.

Yeay it's already the final stage! Put the filling in the middle and sandwich the 2 same size macaroons.

Please don't forget to put the macaroons in the fridge as they can't withstand the humidity.

Enormous Macaroon

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I wrote an entry. Perhaps because nothing interesting has been happening lately.

Well I would not dare to say that I love macaroons looking at how much calories it carries (I'm on a so-called consistently on diet you know). Nevertheless, you should try the enormous macaroons from Delectable. You can find one of the outlets in Pavilion, KL.

Clean Your Make Up Before Sleeping

Hey everyone,

I've always had problem in removing my make up especially my waterproof mascara and eyeliner. I've tried almost everything but it will either irritate my eyes or it just doesn't work.

A friend of mine told me that Shu Uemura's cleansing oil is a very good make up remover. Hence, with curiousity as always, I bought it. Guess what, it's like a miracle! Just pump 3 times and massage the cleanser for a couple of minutes on your face, especially around the eye area, with a little bit of water and voila! The make up is 99.9% gone! What makes it the best is that it will not irritate your eyes but perhaps will make your eyes a little bit blurry. Well I usually go to sleep straight away so it's not a problem for me.

It has a few types that will suit your skin condition. 150ml will cost you RM110 and for me I reckon it's totally worth it. Try it and you'll know!

Holiday in Seoul, Republic of Korea, Feb 2012

Hey everybody,

This post has been due for a month. I don't know what happened to me...I just couldn't find the time to write an entry. Is this a sign for me wanting to stop blogging? Ermmm perhaps....

Anyway, my family and I went for a holiday in Seoul, Republic of Korea last month. It was extremely cold and the weather was -14 degree Celsius! I was freezing and didn't feel like going anywhere, but eventually of course we did.

We stayed at Golden Pond Guest House. We took a bus (No. 6011) from Incheon Airport and got down at Sunkyunkwan University. From there it was only a 2-minute walk. The guest house is 5 minutes away from Hyehwa Station (subway). Price was about 20,000 won per night (it would be cheaper if you are sharing). There are also a lot of shops near the guest house, hence, you  may shop in between your trips. Surf www.goldenpond.co.kr for more information.

Places that we went:

Tourist Information Centre

Lotte World : Indoor Theme Park (30 minutes by subway from the guest house. Get off at Jamsil Station). Entrance ticket is KRW25,000 for adult.

Lotte World Duty Free Shop

Namiseom Island : It was a bit further from the city. We took the subway and a train and from the station we took a taxi to the ferry port. Entrance ticket is KRW10,000.

How to get there:

Take a train to Gapyeong Station and take a taxi to Namiseom parking lot. (Travel time: 10-15min). Then, take the ferry from Namiseom Dock to Namiseom Island. (Travel time: 5-6 min)

OR

Shuttle Bus (From Seoul to Namiseom Island)
* Bus Stop
1) Insa-dong (Jonggak Station, Subway Line 1, Exit 3): Next to Tapgol Park
2) Jamsil Station (Subway Line 2, Exit 4): In front of Lotte Mart

Gyeongbokgung Palace : 15 minutes by subway (Get off at Gyeongbokgung Palace Station or Gwanghamun Station.) Entrance ticket is KRW10,000.

Seoul N Tower : 10 minutes by subway. To reach the cable car boarding place, walk for about 10~15 minutes following the street of the right side of the Pacific Hotel, after coming out of the exit 3 of Myeong-dong Station. 

Teddy Bear Museum @ Seoul N Tower. Entrance ticket is KRW8,000.

On the 3rd day...it snowed!

Of course we also did some shopping at a few places such as Dongdaemun (1 stop), Myeongdong (8 min) and Namdaemun (15 min) market. All made in Korea. Prices are quite reasonable and cheaper compared to Tokyo.

Please don't forget to try the Korean cuisines such as fried potato, tteobokki and also what's Korea without kimchi. You can find a lot of halal restaurants at Itaewon (25 min by subway).
