Hey everyone,
Yes, I recently got married and for honeymoon, we went to Hong Kong and Macau.
We stayed at Bridal Tea House Hotel at Anchor Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon. It's about 10 minutes of walk from the Mong Kok MTR. Check the rates here http://www.hkchhotel.com/hk-budget-hotel.php.
Train guide from Airport to Mong Kok MTR :
Take the Airport line - get down at Tsing Yi and take Tung Chung line - from Tsing Yi get down at Lai King and take Tsuen Wan line - from Lai King get down at Mong Kok and walk for 10 minutes to Anchor Street, Tai Kok Tsui. Ask around if you can't find the hotel.
In Hong Kong, we travelled by the MTR. Your most essential tool here is the MTR map. You may get a copy at the airport.

The Peak was our first spot. We stopped at Central MTR and walked to the Peak Tram. Easy, just follow the signs. |
At the Peak, we went to Madame Tussaud |
Also not to forget, Hard Rock Cafe @ the Peak |
Then, we went down and walked to the Hard Rock Cafe Hong Kong @ Lan Kwai Fong. It's easy, just follows the sign to Lan Kwai Fong. Easier if you have the map. You can get a copy at the HRC @ the Peak. |
Craving for halal food? Don't worry, just stop at Wan Chai MTR and walk pass through the Times Square (You can also do a little bit of shopping if you want to). Masjid Ammar @ Oi Kwan Road is behind the Charter House Hotel. If you are lost, just use the wifi at Times Square and try to find it using your Google Map on your phone. Have a good halal food at the canteen.
Check here for list of mosques in Hong Kong http://www.iuhk.org/Eng/E_mosque.htm. |
At night, we went to the Avenue of Stars @ Tsim Tsa Shui MTR. |
There, we watched the Symphony of Lights. It is staged every night at 8 pm. Unfortunately, it was raining half way (you are advised to bring umbrella everywhere you go in Hong Kong). |
The next day, we went to Macau by ferry from Sheung Wan MTR. The journey took us about 1 hour. Price is around HKD130-150. |
Every hotels in Macau has free shuttle bus from the ferry terminal. Feel free to ride. |
The shopping complex @ The Venetian. To reach here just take the Venetian shuttle bus from the ferry terminal. |
Not to forget, Hard Rock Cafe Macau. It's just behind the Venetian. Just walk for about 10 minutes to reach there. |
At night on our way back, we dropped by at the Ladies' Market @ Mong Kok MTR for a little bit of souvenir shopping. |
Us with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. |
The cute Disney MTR.
The halal restaurant in Disneyland Hong Kong, Tahitian Terrace |
On our last day before we head back home, we went to the Citygate Outlets @ Tung Chung MTR. It's the Hong Kong version of Johor Premium Outlets.
I hope my entry will be useful to those planning to go to Hong Kong. I enjoyed my trip and looking forward to my second honeymoon end of this year.
XOXO :P
